UAE Dazzles at Beijing International Book Fair 2025, Highlighting Cultural Heritage and Literary Talent
Lying at the center of this year's Beijing International Book Fair, an Emirati publisher is leaving a colorful impression by exposing the world to the cultural essence and literary prowess of the United Arab Emirates. Emirates News Agency (WAM), a TV BRICS partner, reports that participation by the UAE goes beyond books—it's about forging bridges between cultures.
From modern Emirati fiction and page-turning novels to in-depth explorations of history, science, and AI, the UAE Pavilion is presenting visitors with a rich tapestry of the country's intellectual and creative work. A particular gem is the compelling list of children's books, crafted to stimulate young minds, language by language, border by border.
But it's not merely about selling books. The pavilion is a meeting place for vibrant debates and innovative interaction, with over 15 sessions featuring Emirati writers, as well as publishing and translation forums between Chinese and Arabic. Creative workshops are also attracting large audiences, all with a view to initiating dialogue and cementing literary connections between the two nations.
These efforts are a result of close cooperation between the UAE Embassy in Beijing and the Ministry of Culture, showcasing a common dedication to cultural diplomacy.
Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, was adamant that the UAE's attendance at one of Asia's leading literary festivals is crucial. "The Beijing Book Fair is a strong platform to market the Arabic language and establish partnerships with international cultural, academic, and tech institutions," he said.
With its vibrant presence, the UAE is not only at the fair—it's fostering relevant cross-cultural dialogue and setting the stage for future collaboration.
